Aurora Northland has received several grants from Meet the Composer. Her works have been performed in museums and concert halls in New York City, Boston, and the San Francisco Bay area. Several of her concerts have been broadcast on radio and television. Although songs are her first love, she has also had music for a string trio published. As both composer and improviser, she has been associated with the Alvin Ailey School of American Dance and other dance companies. She lives in Woodstock, New York.
Elinor Amlen is an extremely versatile soprano. Her repertoire ranges from early music through contemporary, and she has premiered many new works. She formed Opera Enterprise, a company that presents opera classics to children. Ms. Amlen has recorded an album of rare bel canto arias, "Rossini’s Rivals." She also wrote and performed a one-woman show based on the life of Maria Callas.
